On Monday the 20 August 2018 we had a follow-up meeting with the Dep Minister Mr Oliphant. What surprises me is the fact that he is saying what we have been preaching all this time about the mining companies. The impacts that the mines are doing to us daily, the problems that we are facing daily, we spoke about our dying livestock, land ownership, mining charter, DMR, cracked houses, dust, SLP and e.t.c. What Mr Oliphant said is that proper consultations must be done correctly, mining companies should take their responsibilities when it comes to SLP as its responsibilities to their hosting communities.

I then confronted the CED manager of the Siyanda about the SLP documents and she said to me I must come and fetch the documents on Monday 27 August 2018. I then asked why she said to me she is leaving to Eastern Cape immediately after the meeting so is now waiting for Monday to collect the SLP documents. And about what Mr Oliphant said is that he needs our help to make thing happen, he needs proof of what we said to make the mining companies pay for the damages they made and our plan as Sefikile college is to take him up on his offer.
