Mine uses a temporary hazardous measure to control road dust levels

While I was doing an investigation focusing on the poor unpaved road in Motlhabe on the 16 section as it is the entrance of Motlhabe I came across a small difference on the road.
Pilanesburg platinum Mine applied some black chemical/liquid on the gravel road which helps to reduce the dust but the smell of it ain’t good for human health.

Others in the community find it positive and others find it negative. On the 23rd of August, I interviewed a mine worker and he told me that “that black chemical it’s a mixture used on tarred roads to hold it together and its mixed with water and it’s no good to be used in an environment like Motlhabe ” said Mr Isaac employee of PPM. Pilanesburg Platinum Mine should simply pave the road the road instead of their temporary solutions that affect the community more. By Lentswe Buda
