Students are in a very high risk of getting Corona virus as they are being sent back to school whilst there is still no change done as in last year.  Last year the shut down was including to avoid risks that they might get it at schools. Since the vaccine has arrived in South Africa the lockdown regulations are eased as if everybody has been vaccinated yet.

Then alcohol sales are now unrestricted besides during the curfew period. Meaning alcohol can be reached from early 10am till midnight. There is no number restriction or anyone making sure that people are sanitized, wearing masks or practicing social distancing.

This past Saturday I decided to go around the local taverns in MOTLHABE to see the difference since there are no more restrictions to alcohol sales only to find out that the curfew doesn’t exist either. Taverns and pubs were open all night. “I was instructed by my boss to not close as long as people want alcohol because he lost a lot of money during other levels of lockdown ‚Äúsaid Orateng (one of the local taverns bar lady)

IN SHORT, PUPILS ARE ALLOWED TO GO TO SCHOOL AS NORMAL, ALCOHOL SALES ARE UNRESTRICTED, NUMBER OF GATHERINGS ARE INCREASED TO A TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY. WHO WILL BE MAKING SURE THAT PEOPLE ARE LESS AND NOT MORE. WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN NOW AND 2020 BECAUSE IT’S NOT LIKE WE HAVE ALL BEEN VACCINATED
