Bribery and corruption kills community employment project

The community of Kanana  are very angry with the Business Forum. A project to provide jobs was stopped because of unfair treatment of employees. An employment procedure was agree with the CLO , but the Business forum changed this without consultation with the community. The community believed that this changed benefited the contractors and that there was bribery involved.

A group of 3 members of the community met the Mayor to explain why they stopped the project and ask the Mayor to intervene. The mayor, Mr Khauwe. promised the community that he will talk with the ward councilor to resolve the matter. We are monitoring  this problem.
