Lonmin has provided the Bapo community with Road development project, the project is currently at stand still because the ventures were given to inexperienced companies that have close relationship with Lonmin. The entire project funding is 1.6 billion rands which was meant to be given out in stages but proper procedure was not followed which lead to misuse of funds.

The road development project alone cost 55 million which inexperienced companies shared. Lonmin has been in Bapong for more than 40 years mining, but the project was only given at this year due to the Marikana massacre, this unethical and pure disregard towards the community shows how much pressure Lonmin is actually under.
