Poor families are forced to drink from the polluted river in Sekutlong

Sekutlong is a small village that has been here for a long time. The village has been drinking water from the river.This river is  is polluted by Acid Mine Drainage and makes the community suffer.

The municipality use to  deliver  water around the village but now they stopped doing this even though the river water is not  clean. They created taps that goes with meter number, but it just a picture cause it doesn’t supply us with anything.

We as community now we buy water from the trucks and some of the families don’t have money to buy that water and are  forced  to the polluted river. By Tokelo Mahlakwane
