Notice on land struggle

Community alerts/ by: Lorraine Kakaza/ Mpumalanga_Emalahleni/ 2018/02/28

To: All communities involved in the land occupation movement.

The Gauteng Civic Association coordinating team will meet tomorrow with student representatives to plan occupation of streets and shutdown of the universities till land and free education are delivered to the black working class.

Date: 21st February 2018

Venue: 7th Floor, Khotso House, 62 Marshalltown, Jhb

Time: 13h:00

We ask each community to send 2 representatives.

Honorouble Minister Lindiwe Sisulu, Gauteng MEC for Human Settlement Mr.  Paul Mashatile and with Mayors from different Municipalities and Metros promised to deliver 48000 stands to the Jhb South communities in land sumit held in Nasrec November 2017. Since then, there has not been any word from them to report on the progress made. This is despite the proposal made by Abahlali base Freedom Park on road map for land tenure program. This is the same situation with the announcement made by the state on free education. A large number of Black Working Class children are still shut out of the higher institutions of learning. These are the children of the landless and homeless Black Majority. They only have  to fight for themselves to fight for their land, dignity and the future of our children. No body else will fight for them  that is why they stand up and fight for rights.
