We are in Dominionville community today to pass our heartfelt deepest condolences to the Mhlakazi family. Their daughter who was only 30 years of age, and pregnant was murdered by the one of the Zama Zamas in the area. This incident took place on Sunday the 27th of May. The SAPS only managed to arrest one of the Basotho foreign nationals, the suspect who was later released because of insufficient evidence linked to the crime.
According to our Comrade Talita, the group of Zama Zama were seen at the N12 hitchhiking shortly after the incident. A group of angry community members vandalised the place which accommodated a group of the Zama Zamas and torched their clothes. Just like in many parts of country where mining is in distress, the Zama Zamas step in and terrorize the communities. The community lives in fear, meanwhile the family is preparing for the burial of their loved one. The mother of the deceased appealed for any kind of support during this difficult time. This community will welcome guidance as it may be divided on this problem. By Joe Mashilo
