Today the learners of Charora high school located in Robega serving learners from MACHARORA community blocked the road in front of the school with burning tires and it is alleged that they were throwing stones at passing cars.
This after a news article in the Rustenburg Herald stating that parents of learners from the school approach the publication that they being forced to pay R500 in fees and money for paper whereas Charora is a no-fee school.
Learners also vandalized school property during the protest. Police were called to calm the situation. We not clear what’s the way forward on the issue. By Olebogeng Motene
