Over 60 years of mining but the Madibana community has nothing to show as development

There are 2 abandoned Khomanani shafts, they were both closed in 2012 by Anglo Platinum. Now what shocks us as the community of Mfedikwe is that out of the 60 years of mining we have never reaped anything from this mining operations, only that the community is poisoned and contaminated with emissions from the processing plant of the same company.
And the two shafts pose a life threat as criminals may use the premises for their criminal activities, kids may lose their lives using the premises as places to play due to lack of recreational facilities, livestock may be endangered too, and we could start experiencing artisanal mining which carries lots of social illnesses as we have seen in Gold and diamond failed areas across South Africa.
