Phola has been here for decades, it used to be a peacefull place, where our father’s were working at Kendal Power Station, at first it seemed like there was hope because Kendal did build nice houses for it’s employees and families. Down the line mines started coming in to our once beautiful Phola, there was hope that Phola will develop to a beautiful urban place instead we were rewarded with air pollution, contaminated water and our land was invaded with endless mines taking away our precious land for build houses, now people are saying enough is enough they are taking back the land occupying it with their shacks saying they want to see proper development.

they are tired of being back dweller’s while the mines are taking over and not giving anything back.
