Gravelling of township roads.

Kansanshi mining PLC has commenced works on the Royal cross roads road also known as the old Solwezi chingola road.
This road was mostly in a deprolable state especially in the rainy season despite it having one the best hotels in Solwezi.
This follows the singing of a memorandum of understanding MOU between Solwezi municipal council and kansanshi mines through the debt swap amounting to k6.632,723.94.
The question is why can’t the council and the mines upgrade these town ship roads to bituminous standard instead of full gravelling.
