Covid19 Lockdown Diary – Mfidikoe
8th April 2020
MFIDIKOE WARD 34 BOJANALA DISTRICT.
This is the street that is usually filled with community members of this village called Mfidikoe under the Royal Bafokeng Administration and Rustenburg local municipal in Bojanala District.
Mfidikoe is one the many communities that have been exploited by mining companies including government. Mining started in the 80’s but the development that the companies normally report in their websites and annual reports is not visible. Because they don’t exist
It looks like the community doesn’t belong in South Africa since day one of the pandemic COVID-19, even though this community heard of prevention methods they didn’t understand them, well might be , because sanitiser is a bit far from mind when purchasing basics if you earn less or unemployed.
However with the community is adhering to the law of lockdown without being giving workshops from community health workers and government an intervention from mining corporates.
