Family of 8 lives on Grannies Grant

On the 19th of April 2020 i was part of the group that was distributing food parcel in my community if Modimolle. And we visited one of the family that they are 8 and 1 grand child, the family stay in 1 room shack and there’s no one who is working they depend on grant for survival. I had a few minutes to talk to the mother and ask her if she has tried to apply for government house (RDP) and she told me that she tried several time but she always see people getting their houses but she don’t get hers, even people who apply for the first time the young ones they get the houses.
