SASSA SRD beneficiaries take action.

In the alert I indicated challenges related to SRD, and that included:
1. Beneficiaries applications which are still pending from May 2020.
2. Beneficiaries who are eligible to apply and benefit from the grant and they are declined.
3. Beneficiaries who have outstanding previous payments.
4. Those who have queries and local SASSA offices cannot attend to them.

Unemployed people who included mostly youth and men gathered next to Jouberton post office on the 21st of September 2020 led by Matlosana Development Forum were voicing out their frustration regarding the SRD grant which seems to favor certain people and left them vulnerable, and SASSA offices not wanting to take their frustrations up to the relevant division.

The March demonstration is scheduled to take place on the 25th of September 2020, where a memorandum of demands will be delivered and handed over at Jouberton Police station where provincial SASSA officials are expected to receive it and put the public at ease.
