Femicide on the rise

Shocking incidents of gender violence continue to plague our locality. Femicide has seen a sharp increase, this despite all campaigns waged against the violence against women and children. Around December Ms Gaopalelwe was reported missing after a search party her body was found in the nearby stream.

It is suspected that she was raped and killed. Further incidents rape has emerged in the past two months. It is further worrisome that perpetrators continue to be given bail by the courts.
