Churches pray for Calm in Jouberton

The Justice and Peace have previously reported gang violence in previous months. This violence was informed by these gangs fighting for territories and tenders from Matlosana municipality. This gangs are Bokoharam, Al-Qaida and Vietnam. This led to some of the gang members losing their lives, their houses and motor cars being torched. That left the community living in terror fearing for losing their lives. The Justice and Peace Commission in Klerksdorp took it upon itself to organise a peaceful March and together with other churches pray for peace, calm and reconciliation amongst members of the community and gangs. The March was organised on the 22nd of March 2021 from AME church in extension 1 to St Paul Roman Catholic Church in extension 2. The March was followed by a prayer meeting whereby pastors and priests from different churches gave messages of support and comfort
