It seems like we’re in a food crisis time. While as a country we grow our own food, we have good Soil and Land.
That does not reflect in the food prices, especially of late with the Unemployment rate at the all-time high in History of this Country and the Government seems to be doing nothing in combating this sky rocketing prices and the Social Grant.
“They are giving out seem to be doing next to nothing because I was listened to the News the other day and it was mentioned that a household Food Bucket cost an average of R4000 per Month pity that means almost more than half of our Population can’t afford a proper meal” said Sizwe.
“While we are told it is because of the Military operations taking place in Russia.
Iam of the view that we do not import the basic foods thus I recon we must go back to indigenous healthy foods from our own garden and even if we don’t have proper Land, but we can start advocating for backyard gardening within our Community”, he added.
That is why as Khuthala Environmental Care Group and other Organizations on the ground are encouraging and promoting back yard gardens to secure food security, because if we live healthy we can think healthy and if we grow our own food we eliminate the risk that comes with GMOs.
