The right and needs of children with disabilities

This women’s month we decided to re-group as mothers of children with disabilities to fight for our children’s rights and needs. We then decided to have a meeting on 06/08 2022. The name of our organization name is Snake park Cerebral palsy forum.

We found that most children with disabilities face a lot of struggles and challenges. We as mothers will like to tackle them because I believe that we are the ones that mostly understand them. Not only that, but we will fight for them because their voices are not being heard by our government. The issues that we discussed were as follows.

We need to open a bank account, and therefore we contributed R50 bucks towards that account. We need to identify the space and secure it. The kids need a drop-in center or a stay-in centre. The mothers need the training to be able to work at the center. We must contribute every month towards the bank account. Each and every month, we will rotate amongst ourselves to host a meeting. All the mothers will work at that centre. We know that our kids need lots and lots of love.
