The coal trucks from the mines came to our community carrying coal and just deliver them near the road for the community to pic sothat they can warn their houses.

This happened between Empumelelweni and Marikana informal settlement in Mpumalanga Province under Emalahleni Local Municipality .

This happened mostly during winter as is too in the Highveld and the mines do this in the name of service delivery.

The community members especially those who rely on the coal to warn up their houses. Children have to go and collect the coal after school though it breaks the stove and the smell of the coal is not suitable to be inside the house .

The community one day stopped a truck telling the driver to tip the coal for them for they can’t buy coal that belongs to them,otherwise they will burn the truck into ashes .Since then they get coal from the trucks for free.

This community have to be united and tell the truck drivers to deliver quality coal not stones cause it is destroying their stoves.The community to choose representatives that will go to the mine and speak to the mine owners sothat they can get good quality coal and their brocken stoves be replaced .
