#ILLNESSES
Mr Motha is a family man who worked at Kwezela Coal mine, who was diagnose with asthma and kidney diseases, he was told by his private Doctor but when he attends Medical fitness at work the mine Doctor says he is healthy, He worked there for more than 5 years now already his life is affected.
At Mpumalanga under Emalangeni Local Municipality in kwaGuqa Area is where the mines are located by the Kwezela coal mine.
Mr Motha can’t even afford to provide for his family anything they desire from the salary that he is earning, and now he is faced with this illness and he should attend doctors using the medical aid provided by the mine, and this medical aid in some doctors it doesn’t work he has to pay cash. It’s difficult to be coal miner it’s not as fancy as people they see it.
Mr Motha is the most affected as he is the one that is working under those conditions, and being diagnose with this illness and he have to carry on working for his family.
Mr Motha is depending on his job and of which it doesn’t pay him enough to live a better life with his family, Mr Motha said working under this conditions is very difficult it’s not safe at all, now i know that I’m sick and i can’t i just quit the job what my family will do how I’m going to provide for them and my health.
I’m depending on this job it’s only income I have and to provide for my family, and i have to pay for my consultations at the Doctor’s.
Coal mines should change their policies create a safe working conditions for worker’s, and make sure they acknowledge that people are sick because of the way we produce coal and pay for medical expenses.
