Two weeks ago the electricity power went off   and the communities of Ezinambeni thought it was Load shedding but after days goes by they realized that something is wrong.

 

This happened at Emalahleni under kwaGuqa cluster transformer which supply electricity to the communities of Ezinambeni which are more than 15 extensions.

 

This caught the communities with surprise as most of the time this happens to only one extension not so many extensions, surprisingly it was not raining or thundering.

 

All the extensions especially those who had already bought food for the month that needs refrigerators. The peoples who are suffering from asthma and rely on nebulizer’s for breathing as it needs electricity to operate.

 

The municipal spokesperson said the transformer was overloaded and could not carry the burden any longer.

 

Vukani Environmental Movement has lent a hand to the nearby communities by providing them with permission to charge their phones, lights, and laptops using the solar power that is installed in the VEM’s center for free.

 

The communities need answers and electricity urgently as the municipality is the one that give people’s stands so why didn’t they upgrade the transformer when seeing the communities enlarging.
