Livestock theft hurts farmers who feed their families

Livestock losses are increasing in the rural areas of Danhouser and Utrecht. Since the animals are found to have been slaughtered, you will find the skin cut open. they are also taken out of homes and barns.

The Blose family, who live alone on the farm, lost 13 goats. A member of this family, Nicky Blose says “they tried to look but they didn’t find anything”. A case was opened at the Ngogo police station where they were handed over to Stock theft in Utrecht as the people who will be able to deal with the case of livestock theft.

This issue has also been intervened by White Farmers to prevent crime in public by hiring Themba Security. It is the duty of the citizens to monitor and report those who steal livestock because they are known to be responsible. Skebhe CT reduces livestock theft and is the director of a building built by community members.

On 4/04/24, I received a call from my brother’s manager and he told me about the goats that were found and told me to hurry and go to him. One of my goats were found in Madadeni section 7 the other six goats were not found.

People who steal livestock are well-known people but they cannot be reported or pointed out because of lack of evidence and proof.

Many people steal livestock to get recreational drugs and sell them very cheap.

What the police must do is to ensure that all cases of livestock theft are dealt with urgently. And members of the community must also do their part by reporting crime.

The biggest problem is that the Blose family is left alone on the farm and the goats are caught when they return home. With this livestock we support our families and educate children in school.
