Potholes found in our street
#FIXOURROADFORSAFEDRIVING
It’s been a decade since we have been living in Vosman village, where there are potholes on the
roads, not just small holes but big holes that can damage cars. That can add an extra cost to
people’s lives. These holes grow day by day, they also cause accidents on the roads because
some drivers might not be aware of the roads that we have in our places. Our community
has been complaining about the incident and accidents that take place every month, people
also lose their lives because of drivers trying to avoid holes that will damage their cars.
The following information is the interview from the community, as I had an interview with
two of the community members, MR Phawula and MRS Nkosi sharing their stories about the
road and gave suggestions;
MR Phawula said:
" The road damaged my car, I have been trying to fix my car for a long time but I can’t
finish, it because car parts are costly and I’m not working. Things are hard to get, now
I have to use my grant money to fix my car. The roads should be fixed because I’m now
afraid to put my car back on the road because of the damages caused by these potholes”
MRS Nkosi said:
“For the safety of the kids, these roads must be fixed. We will never be ready to lose our
children because of the cars trying to veer away from potholes. My child was hit by a car, but by God’s grace, he’s not dead although he can’t walk. That is all because of the road that
has potholes. "
Municipalities must fix our roads. We have been pleading for a long, but they don’t take us
seriously. People are tired of adding car damage to their everyday expenses and watching
people get hurt.
May the Municipality take the place of Vosman Village seriously because we are losing our
loved ones, because of things that can be permanently fixed.
