Unsafe place for community and Children

On May 13, 2024, I was visiting a place in Manzane Village and I saw something that tortures people and children when they go to school they have to cross flowing sewage before reaching school. The council is aware of this issue and it is about 5 years now, but nothing is being done by the Newcastle management.

This sewage flows into the river where the children cross with their feet and when the water levels are high, members of the community take off their shoes and cross.

The community went to the local council to ask for a bridge to be built so that children can cross when they go to school because when it rains they cannot cross over, the older children can enter the distant bridge and it is not safe for children, now it is difficult for young children to go there.

The councilor and the municipality have finally arrived and we have not seen the steps they are taking. This water smells every afternoon especially when it is hot, and the smell is very strong and the river is also full of waste dumped by members of the community. This river is dangerous when it is full, people lose their lives if they pass through this river. This matter is known to the municipality of Newcastle.

The community suffers a lot because the sewage stinks inside the houses, the waste is dumped in the river. Municipality they have responsibility to provide with service delivery. And waste should be collected. Livestock also die because they drink this water but it seems like no one knows about this matter.
