The lack of job opportunities has left many people, especially young graduates, unemployed. Some families struggle to afford food, pay bills, and meet their basic needs. As unemployment increases, poverty and frustration continue to grow in the community.
Unemployment is affecting people’s future. Many young people have qualifications and skills, but they cannot find jobs because there are fewer opportunities in the area.This results in increased poverty, as many families struggle to afford basic needs like food and electricity,there are higher crime rates, as some people may turn to illegal activities to survive. Some people experience mental health problems, including stress, anxiety, and depression.We, as young people lose hope and become discouraged after failing to find work.There’s too much dependence on social grants and financial support from family members.
The municipality should work with local businesses to create more jobs, support small businesses, and provide skills training for young people. This would help more residents become employed and financially independent.
Many residents spend months or even years looking for work. It is common to see people applying for the same vacancies, while others depend on social grants or temporary jobs to survive. Matjhabeng Municipality must create more employment opportunities as it would reduce poverty, improve living conditions, and give people hope. It would also help the local economy grow and create a better future for the people of Matjhabeng Municipality
