Phase 2: Community Monitors School

The Community Monitors School kicked off with its Second Phase in the Vaal region in Gauteng.Similar sessions will be held in Rustenburg,Klerksdorp, Welkom in the Free State, Kwa Thema on the East Rand and in Driekop and Gapila Sterkwater in Limpopo.

A total of 60 community activists attended the first phase of the community activism school which was held over May – July 2012. Workshops where held every second week.The participants did research and writing tasks in between worshops.

The first phase introduced the activists to basic research writing and analysis skills.

In the second phase the activists will work in small groups and do more intensive research projects on specifics issues. They will present drafts in follow up workshops to be held over September and October. Their final reports will be presented to their local communities where they live and published on this site and the Action Voices publication.
