The burning abandoned mine

The rocks in the mine formerly, owned by the Benicon Mine, next to the dam is burning from the inside. This mine is now abandoned. The dam is heavily polluted by heavy metals from the mine. This mine has only operated for (±)3years. The caused of it being abandoned is unknown. It is the danger to the community. Young unemployed youth collect coal from this mine to sell to the community. The area is not fenced. This poses a danger to livestock that graze close to the mine. The mine is situated at Komdraai at Emalahleni KwaGuqa
