Victory to Lephalale communities

It’s more than 30yrs now since Grootegeluk Coal Mine started to mine in our area Lephalale, Community of Lephalale never seen or heard about their Social and Labour Plan(SLP). Grootegeluk Coal Mine, currently known as Exxaro coal mine. Yesterday, 21/03/2018, We visited by CALS, MACUA and Action-aid South Africa on our social audits program held in Lephalale (Marapong Township). We’re humble to have Exxaro Social & Labour Plan 2013/2018 through CALS without marching to the project and our local municipality.

We will discuss some of our concerns about the current and Drafted Exxaro SLP’s with Lephalale community, Local and District Municipalities, Exxaro, Traditional leaders and Community Base Organizations. By Andries Mocheko
