Limpopo Cooperatives and Stokvel Confex

Limpopo Cooperative and Stokvel Confex was held from 19-20 July 2019 at Thohoyandou Town hall. The event was attended by all District Municipalities in Limpopo. I.e. Sekhukhune, Waterberg, Vhembe, Mopani and Capricorn. Some of the Co-ops brought their product to exhibit e.g. Atchar and Tea. The cooperatives that had done well won Laptops and printers. Most of our mothers have been doing stokvels to buy important things and take care of their children. This event was to give them information and also to encourage them. Venda is a beautiful place with lots of trees. On our way back we passed Tshakhuma market where young and old women are selling their local produced products like banana, mango, guava, litchis, sugarcane, pawpaw, macadamia nuts, nartjies, pears and sweet potatoes. That has showed how Agriculture is important for us and our heritage. Some of the institutions that where available were: – Nedbank to help people with Stokvel accounts – Sanaco -Sabric for Fraud Awareness for savings clubs to help people to safeguard their cash. The following were included * ATM fraud, Card fraud and skimming, cheque fraud, Identity theft, Email hacking. Information about where to report fraud and ATM related incidents was also given. People also were given information about internet banking, Cell phone banking, fraudulent change of bank accounts, 419 scams, deposit and refund scams and money laundering.
