Waste Removal – Dumping is increasing in time of Corona

We have seen people beginning to dump waste materials, including diapers informally during the period of lockdown thus far. This informal dumping is mostly deposited under prominent bridges linking to main rivers when it is raining. In their honor to the president’s Corona briefing, people are therefore no longer going out to their dumpsites and are then dumping the wastes nearby.

I then suggest that the Municipality can help in issuing other remedial implements such as refuse bags and dustbins so that the waste materials can be controlled and be deposited properly. Should the identified problem be left unresolved, we then risk other health problems and sicknesses. Donald Mphethi
