Since Covid 19 reached South Africa and lockdown was introduced the presidency has provided the unemployed citizens of South Africa with a monthly wage of R350.00. which was barely enough for one to survive with but now it’s gone.

The money was so little but it did make a difference in many peoples life’s, I know I few who managed to use that money for curriculum vitae and transport fees to job interviews and job hunting and today they are working.
I know a few who used that money to start a small spaza business and today they have a better income than before.
Others used the opportunity by selling Kotas, fruits and drinks at the post offices whenever it’s payday. So in short the SRD Grant was not much but it did make a change to people’s lives. As rumour says that there are talks to permanent it, I believe it could make a huge difference to people who are searching for work or business opportunities because it gives you a little thing to start from
