Road Traffic Caused by Portholes

Nomsa Masondo

There is a four-way stop on Mandela drive Road next to Cebisa Secondary School. That road is full of pedestrians day and night because everyone is using that road to pass by.Residents, Students, Boxer Supermarket Workers and Public Transport those are the mainly affect the most by the road because every day they had to use it. Miss Maphosa is one of the residence said “this road is always filled with Water that passes here from no-where. What will happen in the next few Months to come will be Portholes everywhere?”

Zandile Sibanyoni a Students from Cebisa Secondary School “l remember one day I was beaten at the School gate, worse I miss my first period because my late coming, pity the road was barricaded with Danger Tapes and the Law enforcers were also available because of the accident that occurred. Everyone was forced to go back, use an alternative Road and that was another waste of time that courses my late coming at school and other Students. It is very sad that I had to sign a warning Letter, emphasis that I’m a late comer at School, knowing exactly that if it wasn’t the incident of Traffic on the road there would be no warnings in School premises,” Zandile added. And also others at work had to sign Written Warnings just like one of the Boxer’s Employee because of late coming.

In the name of our Ward Councillors, we would like to see our leader dedicating themselves by providing better and Qualified Constructors to fix our Roads and stop using cheap materials to fix the Portholes like cement, stones and bricks on main roads.
