#LOADSHEDDING

The shortage of electricity that happened in the name of reduction and loud shedding leads to the community members doing things that they know is costing their lives.

This is happening in Vosman under Emalahleni Local Municipality the place formerly known as Witbank the place of coal.

This is happening mostly in winter as most people stay in shacks and informal settlement. The shacks are too cold and needs an alternative to warn it as you can’t survive to stay in cold weather.

The community staying in Vosman especially those who are staying in shacks and have kids for it’s easy for respiratory diseases to affect the young. ” We know that coal is unhealthy risk but we have no alternative but only coal to warm our houses ” said sis Nelly the mother of two a five years old girl and a 1 year three months old boy

During load shedding we stay about four to five days without electricity that’s leading people to do mistakes knowingly.

The electricity problem to be taken seriously and the alternative to be implemented quickly before many people are buried.

The local government to enforce the law by relocating the community in the informal settlement as they stay in wetland.
