Crime collapses our healthcare service.

#HEALTHCARECOLLAPSE

Community Healthcare Centre’s (CHC) are being build in/around our communities in order for the community people to access them easily. Unfortunately, recently there was a break-in in our one of Community Health Care.

There break-in happened at Empumelelweni Community Health Care that is situated at Ext 10 kwaGuqa in ward 23 under Emalahleni Local Municipality in the Mpumalanga Province.

Apparently this happened few months ago. And that affected the young and old, both women and men in the communities around because their health depend on the Empumelelweni Community Health Care service. The Community Health Care was built to operate 24/7and it had a maternity ward to cater the ones who are giving birth without complications in order to avoid congestion in hospitals and to avoid long wait for an ambulance and traveling long roads to get to the hospitals.

So now the maternity ward is not in use anymore because of crime. It is said that three guys wearing balaclava with guns drove in with a car with force using the boom gate and got out of the car pointing guns at the security guards demanding entryway.

They entered the clinic points guns at staff and took medications and some utilities in the maternity ward and that caused the non functionality of the ward up until presently the ward still not in use.

So recently the pedestrian sensing gate is being installed as a solution in order to avoid pedestrian to use same gate with cars and to keep the boom gate locked all the time as only ambulances and clinic staff cars are allowed to enter and parked inside the yard.
