Human Activities are contributing factor to climate change
The burning of domestic waste is a serious contributing factor to climate change as this adds to the carbon footprint within our communities and our neighbourhood at large. This brings evidence that more awareness-raising is needed within our community
This happened at Vosman, not far from our office where we always teach the neighbourhoods about the importance of not burning domestic waste. This happened during the day when a heap of waste was burnt, neighbouring houses and community members were negatively impacted as the smoke went inside their homes.
One of our community residents decided to burn domestic waste, as a result of poor service delivery from the municipality in collecting the waste within the community. Municipalities need to do their work in the collection of waste within the communities to reduce the burning of waste.
We invited our neighbours to attend our classes where we teach about the impacts of burning waste within our communities and keeping our communities clean
