People staying in a Wetland

#WETLAND

The community of Emalahleni especially Vosman are staying in a wetland which causes their houses to sack too much of water from the wetland and later breaks as the walls are always wet.

They then travel pass a stream to collect a failed mixture of cement and concrete which is dumped near them by the afrisam Ready mix company of which they crush using forks using it to stump outside their yards in order to be able to move in and out of their houses and control the water outside their yards as they live in the wetlands which have running water 24/7

This is currently happening in Vosman Emalahleni where people from inside and outside South Africa come in search of job opportunities.

Ever since the re-opening of the mines that was abandoned some years back. The community seeing those coming from outside Vosman occupying the land they too decided to do the same even though it’s a wetland.

Everybody who got stands in the wetland especially those who have kids as they are not free to play as they wish for the water is coming out non  stop.

They need to be evacuated to a new and proper place that is not harmful to their health and wellbeing
We had a mouth to mouth with the counsellor to at least assist them with RDP houses in a proper place but the councillor is complaining about the fact that some people’s staying in the wetland are not South African and have no Identity documents.
