Trucks the polluter

The coal transporting trucks from the mines are destroying and causing air pollution with dust from gravel road.

 

This happened at Empumelelweni formal settlement in Mpumalanga Province under Emalahleni Local Municipality that was declared High Priority Area in 2007.

 

The coal transporting trucks come to our settlement and cause lot of dust as they are in hurry to load coal meaning they come to our area without permission from the owners.

 

The community of Empumelelweni and the neighbouring communities are the ones affected as they especially parents who have to make sure they guard children from playing in the streets to avoid being hit by the trucks.

 

The community members have to stop trucks from entering our settlement as the ward councillor was told about this but nothing has been done yet instead more trucks come as if they invite each other.
