Tubatse Caravan Climate change workshop

On 17th November 2022 SEJN, Itumeleng Youth Project and Morapaneng community health care workers held Tubatse Caravan Climate change Workshop at Ditwebeleng village. This was a response to COP 27 that was held on 6 -18 November 2022 by communities of Tubatse to discuss the following topics :

1. Women and climate change
2. Food gardens and preservation
3. Climate Change and Environment
4. Clean energy
As communities from mining affected the following issues were raised:
Pollution (soil, water and air) and food scarcity due to weather changes that leads to floods and strong winds that has negative impacts on food security and environment. Women and Children are the most affected due to abuse that happens when the country are on loadshedding.

A new forum was established to engage on climate changes in Tubatse. The team will strategies on how to engage the local government and making sure that alternatives they talked about are implemented. Thanks to OXFAM who sponsored the dialogue.
