Upgrading the youth skill

On 27 April 2023 the community organisation Sisonke Environmental Justice network was combining the affected youth by mines at Allen sport field, Dannhouser area. Youth is just sitting at home since they have finished Grade12 because they are jobless.

The community organization was doing those games because there are many young people who are using drugs and some are involved in crime that happen in the community. The young people in this area are now spending time in the soccer field every Saturday and Sundays. Our municipality do not create a space for youth in terms of sport like Salga game.

The unemployment rate is increasing daily because most of young people have Grade 12 and some stay with their grand parents.

Soccer can open doors for youth in this country and abroad, we encouraging those  playing soccer and other sports to join tournament so that they can  gain more skills. Sisonke is creating this platform in solidarity to protect the youth from drugs and upgrade their skills .
