The community of Vosman Malahleni pleads with the Government to fix electricity cables
The news is reported from Vosman Emalahleni village. We find that people are being choked
by the writhing snakes, normally called and known as Izinyokanyoka.
The community has been complaining and pleading that the Municipality should come and fix
electricity cables on the ground because children always play near the cables and get hurt every
time. It is not a safe spot for children to play but after all, they don’t listen, so it will be best if the
The government fixes electricity for everyone and moves the writhing cables on the ground and
hang them where people won’t be able to reach them, in that way we are all safe regardless of anything.
The cables become more dangerous when it’s raining because they are open on the ground
and there’s electricity inside, it caused a lot of disasters, we wouldn’t say it’s a foreseen
occurrence because we all know that electricity might be a danger if not taken care of says’t One
of the community members.
The community is asking for better treatment to live long and be safe at all costs, it is really
painful to see young children getting hurt by something that we as the community cannot
solve, at the very same time the government doesn’t help with anything. Some Municipality
members are asking why people are creating Izinyokanyoka, The first is that people are suffering
and life might be hard for them without electricity because they still can’t afford coal, so they
should borrow electricity from people who have it.
The government can make life easier for them if they add them to the electricity poles so that at
least they can have something owned by them. The whole plan might also end or reduce
Izinyokanyoka.
