The community of Mashishing in Lydenburg, Thaba Chweu Municipality in Mpumalanga have been on strike for 4 days the issue is that municipality ate the money for electricity and now the community pay the price, by having cut off electricity every morning 6:00-10:00 and from 17:00-20:00 in the evening.
The community they don’t sleep every morning around 3:00 they block the main road that mine buses use R37 road from Burgersfort to Lydenburg and the road from Lydenburg to Steelpoort (R555)
The reason being that Lydenburg has more than 10 mines around and they believe disturbing mine production will lead them to get attention to the Local municipality.
