WATER – CRISIS IN INFORMAL SETTLEMENTS UNDER LOCKDOWN

Since the president announced about 1,000 water tankers the will be provided for the delivery of water to communities under lockdown. At long last today marks the first day of Municipality supplying communities with water. I wish and hope it will be a continuity with water supply as most are affected deeply as they are forced to buy water every day.
The words from the President I quote.
“Other projects are focusing on increasing the local manufacture of protective face masks, hand sanitisers and pharmaceutical products which can be used by health care workers and the public at large”. As mining affected communities we are still waiting to hear who the manufactures are nearby and when will communities benefit.
