RUSTENBURG

I would like to be allowed to share about Lotlhakane village. In the rural area in Mahikeng local municipality, most of the communities are living in poverty and there is a high rate of unemployment most of the youth depend on seasonal farm work mainly in Coligny or in the Northern Cape as most go to Kakamas for farm employment or migrate to mining towns like Rustenburg. The others depend on social grants (senior citizens and Child support).

Houses have electricity but it is mainly used for lights, not for cooking, many families use wood on an outside fire.
Crime is high as businesses are frequently robbed, leading to most closing down, which leads to lack of development due to vandalism and theft.
