Re-mining Abandoned mines Creates New Problems for the Community

In Mpumalanga Emalahleni in vosman there are a number of mines that are in operation near the community of Vosman

In that area they did mine before and leave the area then there were burning sinkholes that started to show up but even though there were these burning sinkholes other mines come in to mine on that area.
We did have arguments on the issue as why they allow these mines to mine there as there was lot of distractions that was taking place and disturbing the community of vosman even today is still continuing. But this didn’t help.The sink holes are not covered. When the re-mining is over they leave the sink holes.
We also had engagements with the municipality but later they came back with the respond that they have to mine and take out all the coal that is causing burning sinkholes so that they can rehabilitate the land. But we doubt that this will happen.
Unfortunately yesterday the area went to flames while they were busy with their operations.
