The youth formations in Kutloanong took the quantam leap forward and invited all stakeholders to curb the rising number of unemployed young people.

This brought under one roof youth from political parties to small businesses, community based organizations and faith movements.

Government departments such as social development, SEDA and NYDA also responded and graced the occasion with their presence.

A number of issues were raised during the discussion with the government departments lamenting that members of the public are not utilizing their services and missing on lots of opportunities that are in place.

The public also bared their frustration that these departments are not easy to access

* The list on their database is getting longer and no one seems to be assisted

*They need to open satellite offices in places that are far from the principal towns of local and district municipalities because it is costly for people to travel to their offices

*Red tape is making it difficult for people to access their services

The conclusion is that more emphasis should be put on educating young people on how this process works so that they can be able to start their own businesses to address the growing youth unemployment rate
