Load shedding and unemployment

#UNEMPLOYMENT

The two boys originally from Nelspruit came Emalahleni in search of green pastures as Emalahleni is known as a place of coal meaning there’s much job opportunities.

It is all happening in the Mpumalanga Province under Emalahleni Local Municipality where everywhere you go you see people carrying bag of coal and coal transporting trucks then the big mountains created by mining in the area.

During the time of COVID 19 many people’s lost their jobs and two guys named Sibusiso Masondo and David Sibiya come at Emalahleni looking for job opportunities but unfortunately they didn’t find any, so they decided to go to abandoned mines and separated the stones from the coal so that they can sell the coal to the nearby communities.

The two boys are more affected because sometimes people are chasing them and took the coal they have worked so hard in separating it from the stones. They once were beaten by unknown guys who claimed to be police without uniform and well-armed with big guns.

The load shedding is causing more demand to their business as people’s want to warm their houses and cook for their families.

These young men have decided to be called as the small scale artisans joining those who want the government to provide them with mining rights and certificates so that no one can bother them in their job.

They say they will convince the pintchy boys to join them as they are doing the same job in fighting for the Small scale artisanal mining rights.
