The water tankers are fetching polluted water from the streams and rivers near the mine and supply it to the waterless community.

The newly developing communities that are without water pipes are being supplied by water tankers that the Emalahleni Local Municipality has given contracts. But the water tankers don’t bother if the water is clean or dirty as long as they deliver is done for them.

This is happening in the Highveld Region of Mpumalanga under Emalahleni Local Municipality in Empumelelweni newly developing community.

The community members are the ones affected as they have no choice but to use the water for whatever needs of water as long as they boiled it . Remember some are unemployed and some depend on grant.
The other water tankers are written honey sucker but they said clean drinkable water. It ends up being a problem as some people are using without boiling it and they end up in hospitals.

Contracted water tankers must not fetch water near mining operations as its where the waste is disposed.
Any contracted water tankers to be reported especially those who are written honey sucker and their contract be stopped with immediately.
