The government should support street vendors.
Evah Mokwena
The news was reported from a few different places at Witbank in Vosman village. Our community members are working very hard to provide for their families, they try by all means to ensure that their families are well-fed. They work on the streets as street vendors, The Government should support their business so that they can do better and grow their business.
In that way people can be able to start businesses knowing that the Government will support and cherish their work, This strategy can decrease the number of theft and crime in society. Remember some people steal because they are also in need of food or something that would benefit them.
The Community members are mostly uneducated and not experienced, It is very hard for them to get Jobs because of not have the right papers for the position and job, Most lack a Matric certificate because they did not finish high school, and this will lead them to be unemployed for a long term because it’s hard to find a company that wants uneducated people unless it’s for cleaning.
The government must play its role to elevate people’s lives as they also want to live better and avoid poverty, in that way not only will the community benefit but also the Government will in many ways. Another issue is that most street vendors are selling illegally on the street, meaning that they don’t have papers that allow them to sell on the streets, The Government should register them at no cost because you do not want money from people who are also in need of money. In this way, we as a community will see and appreciate the big role of Government in our lives. Supporting local businesses and other things will raise the independence of black people.
Some people are uneducated but they have skills, They have something bigger than Educated people but they also don’t know or they do not have a Motive about what they have because they don’t get the support that they need.
The Government should also open Skills Development Programmes for unemployed and uneducated people so that they can find their skills and use them to make money. We expect better things from the Government, and we still have faith that one-day tables will turn in the right direction.
