Angry residents block the street

Residents of Diepkloof in Soweto especially in the following two areas zone 5 and zone 6 blogged the streets from zone 5 robots down the road to zone 6. Residents blocked this road because they want land and not for the ANC government to build houses for them. They are angry because they were fed lies even after their last meeting that they had in Diepkloof extreme park in at Diepkloof zone 2 as they were waiting for one or two people from the department of human settlement.

It shows that were there is no struggle there’s no progress, the land issue and land grabbing are one of the issues that are troubling citizens be it rural and townships. Residents promised that they will take land by force and it matters not whether they face rubber bullets from the police or red ants the struggle of land grabbing has become a priority these days.

Promises by the government of the ANC  were made before 1994 elections but many of the people who voted in 1994 are people who have c forms as a registration for houses, many of those RDP houses were sold to individuals, residents want a piece of land to build their own homes. By Rapule Moiloa
